As many as three accomplices of Rehamn dacoit were killed in a shootout with police during an operation jointly launched by Malir City Police and Lyari Task Force here on Thursday morning.
In charge Lyari Task Force, Chaudry Aslam said that the police had a tip off that Rehman dacoit along with his men was present near Bahu Goth Malir and was planning a dacoity.
TPO Lyari Umar Shahid and TPO Malir Jamshed Inayatullah promptly constituted a police party comprising contingents from Malir City Police Station and Lyari Task force.
As soon as the police party arrived at the site the culprits opened fire on police, which was returned, resultantly three alleged dacoits were killed. The deceased were identified as Arif Mama, Rashid Kala and Rizwan. Chaudry Aslam further informed that the deceased were wanted in over 60 cases of murder, murder attempt, kidnapping for ransom and terrorist activities.
However Rehman dacoit, his close accomplice Ghafour Chohtu and few others managed to escape. Police have also recovered three Ak-47 rifles, three repeaters and three T.T pistols along with large quantity of live bullets and cartridges. The corpses were removed to Jinnah Hospital for autopsy.
