Pakistan Chemists Retailers Association (PCRA) on Thursday announced to observe a token shutter-down strike on June 7 across the province followed by protests and hunger strikes if the Punjab government did not accept their demands.
They said the community would go on an indefinite shutter down strike from July 20. PCRA Central President Ishaq Mayo, in a press statement issued here, said the decision of taking out protest rallies, processions and half shutter down was taken due to anti-chemist policies of the Punjab government.
He said they had already informed the government about their demands. He said the chemists had unanimously passed resolutions in the convention, which included suspension of different notifications as well as implementation of drug rules in the true sense. They also demanded of the government to give 15 percent discount to every chemist on the sale of drugs.
