The European Union kept free-market wheat export subsidies little changed at 6.00 euros ($7.66) on Thursday but the tonnage covered fell from two weeks ago and more grain was again sold from the bloc's intervention stores.
The EU's grain management panel awarded just 4,150 tonnes of free-market wheat exports, down from 79,000 two weeks ago, when the refund was 6.25 euros. There was no panel meeting last week.
The Paris futures market ended mixed but off earlier lows with new crop November closing unchanged at 116.75 euros a tonne, having dipped to 115.25 euros during the day.
