It is a matter of great satisfaction to know that, the Exhibitors (PVT) Limited in collaboration with FPCCI organising the 2nd mega telecom Exhibition C-Future 2006. In the information age, the ability of individuals and organisations to access, process and communicate information in essential for economic growth.
It is the telecommunications that provides proximity and access to resources and markets. Telecom industry has great ability to flourish existing businesses and attract new industries. Given the strategic importance of telecommunications as a vital sector, PTA endeavours to introduce Pakistan in the international arena as one of the modern states in the field of telecommunications. All over the world, introduction of competition in the telecom sector is now the major source of concern for regulators.
In this respect special responsibility is posed on the Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) in order to promote competition in the market and to flourish it in an effectual manner. We are well aware of the challenges of deregulated environment and therefore taking various initiatives and measures to reap maximum benefits from this reform Pakistan Telecom market promises vast opportunities and has the great potential to absorb a substantial reforms to provide better opportunities to the investors.
PTA is making concerted efforts to this end, we are striving hard to create an enabling environment for the telecom players. As a regulator, we are providing and exploring all avenues for a genuine investor - friendly atmosphere Pakistan Telecom Authority endeavours to serve the telecom sector of Pakistan for its growth and development while regulating and promoting new technologies and services, introducing competitive operators on fair grounds and protecting consumer interests.
