The Ministry of Industries and Production has confirmed that the quality of Chinese Cheeta cement is up to British and Pakistani standards. The ministry's clarification issued at a time when the local cement manufacturers were spreading disinformation in the country that the quality of Chinese cement was far below to Pakistani cement, discouraging its use.
The importers, however, approached the industries ministry and asked for its test for the satisfaction of consumers and hit back the speculators.
The ministry on Thursday issued a clarification, saying that consequent upon queries raised against the quality of imported cement by the local manufacturers and different reports published in the newspapers, this ministry ordered the quality test of imported Cheetah brand. The test results of Cheetah Brand imported cement show that its quality is up to British and Pakistani standards, the ministry added.
