The development projects of Rs 400 million have been initiated in Qasimabad Taluka of Hyderabad district in a short span of time of six months while more development schemes amounting to Rs 100 million will by launched in the same taluka by the District government.
District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jameel said this while laying foundation stone of Basic Health Unit here at Sehrish Nagar on Wednesday. He said the development in Qasimabad Taluka was badly neglected in the past, however, the present district government was making all out efforts to uplift the area by completing maximum development work.
The district government fully determined to serve the masses without any discrimination and launching of development projects with such a huge amount was also a part of this determination, he added.
He said that all out efforts were being made to provide sigh of relief to citizens of Qasimabad Taluka by vacating plots of genuine owners from the land mafia. Out of 59 applications received by the district government against grabbing of plots, 54 related only to Qasimabad Taluka, he added.
He said that improper sewerage system and shabby roads were also major problems of the taluka and the district government had initiated a number of steps on priority basis in this direction.
He said that the district government had initiated a project of establishment of a treatment plant in Sehrish Nagar with an amount of Rs100 million and the construction of Sehrish Nagar road had also been started with Rs38 million.
A sewerage line had been laid at Shaikh Ayaz road and now the construction of asphalt concrete road was on final stage, he said, adding that a new sewerage scheme had been launched with Rs80 million in Union Council No-1 of Qasimabad under which 10,000 feet long sewerage line was being laid by the district government.
He said that after completion of sewerage schemes, the longstanding problems of improper sewerage system in Qasimabad would also be resolved.
He said that completion of basic health unit in Sehrish Nagar, which would be completed at a cost of Rs 6.3 million, would facilitate the area people soon.
He vowed to resolve all civic problems of Hyderabad district with the co-operation of all taluka and union council nazims.
Among others, Taluka Naib Nazim Qasimabad Ghulam Haider Shahani, Nazim Union Council No-1 Qasiamabad Pervez Ranjha, Naib Nazim Abdul Karim Ghanghra, Nazim Union Council No-4 Latifabad Ghulam Rasool Sammu, Member Taluka Council Qasimabad Shamim Chandio and member minority Amardas also addressed the ceremony. They assured their full co-operation to the district government in completion of development schemes in the district. Taluka Nazim Qasimabad Noor Muhammad Shoro was also present on the occasion.
