Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has completed the implementation of a comprehensive e-business transformation based on the Oracle E-Business Suite, as the national carrier strengthens its reputation as one of the world's leading new airline.
Etihad, which only took to the skies in November 2003, will soon be flying to 30 destinations, a number, which it intends to increase to 70 by 2010. Operating in 19 offices across the globe, the airline placed orders worth USD 8 billion for new aircraft in 2004, a bold statement that sent a clear message to its rivals in an increasingly competitive airline industry.
Oracle E-Business Suite, with its industry-leading range of integrated financial and supply-chain solutions, was the natural choice for a company with such aggressive expansion plans.-PR
