French Counsellor for the economics and commercial affairs Jean Philippe Quercy has said that his government was satisfied with the economic stability of Pakistan and wants to explore new avenues to further enhance trade and economic relations with Pakistan. He was addressing a meeting in Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) here on Tuesday.
French Counsellor said that Pakistan was emerging as one of the strong economies of the world and its recent growth showed that it has great investment potential. Pakistan and France enjoy congenial trade relations and trade volume between the two countries was one billion dollars during the last year, he said.
"Pakistani exports are growing slowly each year showing an increase of 3 to 4 per cent during last 7 years while France has doubled its exports to Pakistan during the last 2 years," he added.
Philippe invited RCCI members to join French delegation visiting exhibitions in India and Dubai. "Exhibition in New Delhi will be held in early September where French Small and Medium Enterprises (SME's) are displaying their goods so we are offering RCCI to join hands with us and visit these exhibitions to get know-how about newly launched French products", he maintained.
