A regular bus service between Gilgit (Pakistan) and Kashgar, the historic city of China, would commence on Thursday, June 15. The buses for this route have been borrowed from the fleet of the Northern Areas Transport Corporation (Natco). Federal Minister for Communications Shamim Siddiqui would inaugurate the bus service.
The bust, which will leave Gilgit in the morning, would be stopped for immigration and customs at two places before reaching Kashgar in the evening. Officials told PPI that plying of the bus would further promote Pak-China bilateral relations.
Besides other commuters, a group of Pakistani traders would also travel in the inaugural bus to further promote trade ties between the two countries.
