Import of plastic waste restricted

Minister for Environment, Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat on Thursday informed the National Assembly the federal government along with the provincial government has addressed the issue of handling plastic material and plastic bags in an effective manner during last three years.
He made these remarks in his written reply to a query during question hour. He said the provincial government has promulgated ordinances to prohibit manufacturing, sale, use and import of black polythene bags or any other polythene bags below a specific thickness.
