Briton Tim Henman finally escaped the grip of Dmitry Tursunov, ending his career-long curse at the hands of the Russian 6-3, 7-6 (7/1) to reach the semi-finals at Queen's club Friday.
Home-crowd hero Henman, with nothing to lose after going out in three Queen's finals and holding a ranking of 76 which leaves him well off the short-list of title favourites, brought back memories of his best in the one-hour, 34-minute victory.
RESULTS:
QUARTER-FINALS: Tim Henman (GBR) bt Dmitry Tursunov (RUS x15) 6-3, 7-6 (7/1); James Blake (USA x5) bt Gael Monfils (FRA x13) 6-1, retired.
