Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has commended the Sindh Government for meeting the wheat procurement target well on time and ensuring that the farmers get the right price for their produce. The Prime Minister made these remarks while chairing a meeting at the Governor House here soon after his arrival on Saturday evening.
The meeting was attended by Acting Sindh Governor Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Federal Minister for Information Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani, Minister of State for Information Senator Tariq Azeem and Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui.
According to a statement the Prime Minister was informed that adequate water was available for the Kharif crop which would ensure a better crop and also help improve the lot of the farming community.
Shaukat Aziz congratulated the Chief Minister for presenting a balanced budget with a development outlay of Rs 32 billion, containing several relief measures in keeping with the needs and requirements of the people.
Sindh Home Minister Rauf Siddiqui briefed the Prime Minister about the law and order situation in the province, which he said, was improving.
Rauf assured the Prime Minister that there was no (no) let up in the relentless efforts being made to arrest the culprits involved in Nishter Park tragedy.
The Sindh administration will not (not) rest until the culprits are apprehended, he said.
The Prime Minister was apprised of the measures being taken by the Sindh government to tackle the problem of loadshedding in Karachi and part of interior Sindh.
Shaukat said Wapda has been instructed to explore all options to enhance the supply of electricity to Sindh. He referred to his recent meeting with the KESC management that was specially called in Islamabad.
