President of a leading US-based firm Mentor Graphics Corporation Gregory K. Hinckley on Sunday, who is on a five-day visit to Pakistan, presented a cheque of $50,000 to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for the President's Relief Fund.
He also held meetings with professors, chairmen and vice-chancellors of leading universities in Lahore and is going to meet Higher Education Commission chairman Dr Attaur Rehman in Islamabad.
The company, originating from Oregon, USA, already has an office in Lahore since 2002 and is responsible for current revenue running more than Rs 173 million and foreign remittances higher than Rs 238 million.
Mentor Graphics Pakistan has been contributing directly or indirectly in the development of technology-related skilled workforce. Currently the company is spending approximately Rs 1.2 million on training and development of the engineering team.
It is working in close collaboration with most prestigious institutes like, LUMS, FAST, NUST, etc, to provide training, support, and advice to the engineering team.
