South Korea has re-issued a tender to buy 100,000 tonnes of non-genetically modified US No 1 soyabean on June 30, an official at the state-run Korea Agro-Fisheries Trade Corp said on Tuesday.
The tender is split into four lots of 25,000 tonnes each, for arrivals between February and September next year at the port of Intone. Last week, the agency had bought only 50,000 tonnes of soyabean out of a total of 150,000 tonnes because of higher-than-expected prices. Offers should be made by 4 pm (0700 GMT) on June 29, and an electronic tender will be held between 10 am (0100 GMT) and noon (0300 GMT) on June 30.
