The Punjab Auqaf, Religious and Minorities Affairs Department will set up the Seerat Academy and the Quran Complex at a land measuring 54 kanals with a cost of Rs 550 million. The project would play a key-role in sensitising the youth about the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) and the Holy Quran.
Punjab Auqaf, Religious and Minorities Affairs Minister Sahibzada Syed Saeedul Hassan Shah stated this while talking to a 20-member delegation of seminary students who called on him at his office here on Wednesday.
Briefing the delegation members about the features of proposed Seerat Academy and Quran Complex, the minister said that an auditorium having a seating capacity for 700 persons and a conference hall for 200 persons would be built at Seerat Academy.
He said the Academy would have educational facilities up to MA and PhD levels, adding that a Quran Museum for the preservation of old and rare manuscripts of the Holy Quran would also be established at the Quran Complex besides a Quran Library for which translations and interpretations of the Holy Quran in different languages would be collected.
A research centre, a mosque, and a library would also be set up at the Quran Academy, he added.
The minister said the architectural plan of the Seerat Academy and the Quran Complex would be in conformity with Masjid-e-Nabvi and other sacred Islamic buildings.
He called upon Ulema and Mushaikh to play their due role in guiding the Muslims in the right direction.
