Customs authorities on Wednesday seized nearly a tonne of hashish from a truck carrying fruit from neighbouring Afghanistan, officials said. "We have recovered 900 kilograms (1,980 pounds) of hashish concealed in some fruit crates," customs official Hayatullah Durrani told AFP, adding that the driver and another man fled the scene.
The truck crossed into Pakistan from Afghanistan through the Chaman Border check-point and was headed to Karachi, Durrani said.
