Implementation on the project of computerisation of land revenue record is underway, and computerisation of land record in two Kanungois circles of Lahore, (Raiwind & Pejian) has been completed where computerised 'Fards' are being issued.
It was informed to the Punjab Minister for Revenue, Gul Hameed Khan Rokhari by the Project Director of Land Records Management Information System Programme (LRMISP) Ali Raza Bhutta, during a briefing regarding the project.
Bhutta informed the minister that data cleansing has started in 10 districts so that the error free data entry is facilitated. He further informed that the two pilot projects in Rahim Yar Khan and Gujrat were underway and would be completed during the next financial year.
He said that software developed would eventually be installed in 18 districts in the first phase of LRMISP, while remaining 17 districts will be covered in the next phase.
While addressing the meeting, the minister said that basic purpose of computerisation of land records was to make the working of the revenue department transparent, eliminate corruption and redress the complaints of the public against Patwaris.
He said that after computerisation, maintenance of the record would be easy. He directed to speed up the work on the project so that it could be completed at the earliest.
