Federal Minister for Water and Power, Liaquat Jatoi has approved construction of 132KV grid station at Tajazai in Lakki Marwat District and work on the project will be started shortly.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Jatoi and Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Co-ordination Salim Saifullah Khan here on Thursday.
According to a release issued from the office of Salim Saifullah Khan, Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Jatoi would lay the foundation stone of the grid station during his visit to the area.
During the meeting it was also decided that power and water related problems of the southern districts would be resolved on emergent basis and a comprehensive strategy would be chalked out in this connection.
Low electricity voltage problem confronting the people of Lakki Marwat and a number of other problems also came under discussion, the release added.
Currently, 66KV grid station is working at Tajazai and Pezu areas, which is overloaded and insufficient for the power needs of the area.
Salim Saifullah Khan maintained that these problems could not be resolved without the construction and upgradation of the grid stations in the district.
The federal minister also informed Liaquat Jatoi that District Nazim Lakki Marwat Humayun Saifullah Khan had provided 105 kanals land free of cost in order to expedite the construction work on the grid stations.
On this occasion Federal Minister for Water and Power assured all possible help from the government in this regard.
