Further recovery was seen in the value of the rupee in the interbank market, picking up three paisa versus the dollar for buying and selling at 60.18 and 60.20, dealers said on Saturday.
Inflows of dollar boosted the rupee's value and it is expected that the rupee might gain more ground in the coming days, dealers said. In the world markets, the dollar was stronger versus the major currencies, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee moved both ways versus the dollar for buying and selling at 60.70 and 60.75, dealers said. The rupee managed to gain 30 paisa versus the euro for buying and selling at Rs 75.93 and Rs 76.03 as the greenback maintained its firmness in the international markets, they said.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee closed the week on a negative note, as it shed its value by 10-paisa in relation to the greenback in the local currency markets.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar's trading commenced at Rs 60.65 and Rs 60.75 on buying and selling counters, respectively.
As a result of increase in dollar's demand, its rate started moving up and closed higher at Rs 60.70 and Rs 60.80 on buying and selling sides, respectively, as against Rs 60.60 and Rs 60.70 of Friday, the dealers added.
On the contrary, the local currency continued rising tempo for the third consecutive day and appreciated its worth against the pound sterling. The British pound was purchased at Rs 110.60 and was sold at Rs 110.90 as compared to Rs 110.80 and 111.20 of Friday, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: Dollar gained 10 paisa against the rupee at the currency market of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Saturday as its buying and selling rates went up to Rs 60.70 and Rs 60.80 against overnight rates of Rs 60.60 and Rs 60.70 respectively.
The dollar opened at Rs 60.60 (buying) and Rs 60.70 selling) in the morning and closed at Rs 60.70 and Rs 60.80 respectively in the afternoon.
Pound sterling further shed Rs 0.30 against the rupee. Its buying and selling rates at the closing hours were Rs 110.70 and Rs 111 against overnight rates of Rs111 (buying) and Rs 111.30 (selling).
Euro rates buying and selling were Rs 76 and Rs 76.20 respectively at the end of the last working day of the week.
