Six members of a family were killed and three others injured when Karachi bound Baba Farid Express hit a car at an unmanned railway level crossing here on Saturday.According to police, the accident occurred at 4.45 pm in Mujahid Colony where nine persons of a family were going to Qaboola by a car (LOV-980).
When the car reached the level crossing, the train coming from Pakpattan hit the vehicle, killing six persons on the spot and injuring three others.
The dead were identified as Nargis, her daughters Sarja (11), Chandni (6), Sheri (12), seven months old Husnain and the car driver Muhammad Saleem.
The injured included Mohsin s/o Liaqat Ali, Nargis's son Umair (8), and her three years old daughter Reha. The injured were admitted to tehsil headquarters hospital Burewala. Saddar police have registered a case.
