The Government College University (GCU), Lahore, on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the WWF-Pakistan for exploring co-operation in joint educational programmes and applied research projects, especially in the field of environmental and biological sciences, and other areas of mutual interest.
The WWF-Pakistan delegation was represented by its Director-General Ali Hassan Habib while GCU team was led by its Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Aftab.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr Khalid Aftab emphasised the importance of knowledge sharing activities in the present age and asked for academic linkages between different educational institutions which are essential to enhance the research-based educational standards. "We need to promote the culture of research in our universities", he asserted.
Ali Hassan Habib said that the GCU is a premiere educational institution.
