A civil court headed by a female judge has summoned the Bahauddin Zakaria University vice chancellor for recovery of defaulted amount of Rs 164,000 that was payable to a catering company for serving food in university's 6th convocation, court sources said.
Earlier, senior member of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Saeedullah Khan filed his suit against BZU after failing in recovering his defaulted amount, stating that the university was not ready to pay his food bill worth Rs 164,000.
He said the university administration assigned him contract of providing food and refreshment on the eve of 6th convocation held on February 20, 2003 but the institution was not ready to pay his arrears amount despite paying dozens of visits. The counsels for the complainant Mujibur Rehman Hashmi and Syed Irfan Haider Shamsi said that the Civil Judge Sarwat Mumtaz Bokhari has issued summon notice to BZU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nasheer Ahmed to appear before the court on July 25.
