A Privatisation Commission spokesman on Thursday contradicted a news item appearing in a section of English press regarding sale off PSM shares through bourses. He was referring to a news report attributed to some sources titled "Move to sell PSM shares via bourses turned down", carried in a section of a English newspaper on June 29.
The spokesman, refuting the report, clarified no such issue was discussed in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation (CCoP) held on Wednesday (June 28).
OUR REPORTER ADDS: The issue of PSM sell-off was not on the agenda of the meeting but before taking up the notified agenda PSM sell-off and Supreme Court order were discussed informally. A proposal from PSM sell-off for IPO was mentioned in the discussions and preference for strategic sale for PSM was clearly stated.
