Lleyton Hewitt said he was relishing the prospect of a "dogfight" with David Ferrer when the pair lock horns for a place in the Wimbledon quarter-finals on Monday.
Australian 2002 Wimbledon champion Hewitt said Ferrer was a tough cookie but insisted he had an in-built "never-say-die attitude" ready to maul the 23rd-seeded Spaniard. "I've never seen Ferrer play on grass," sixth seed Hewitt said.
To his credit, he's had a lot of good results on hard court. Clay is his best surface. But at Miami he's done well the last two years. In the US Open last year he had a pretty good run. Ferrer knocked out Chilean 10th seed Fernando Gonzalez on Saturday in a 4-6, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 victory.
