Pakistan Coast Guards on Tuesday burnt to ashes large quantity of narcotics captured by it during various operations. The narcotic burning ceremony was witnessed by Drug Liaison Officers of various countries and officials of various anti-narcotic agencies.
The drugs burnt on Tuesday included 6,512 Kg Hashish, 14 KG Heroin and 343 Kg poppy flowers. The Director General PCG told journalists that during 2005-06, the Coast Guards captured 9,883 Kg Hashish, 75,350 Kg Opium, 15 Kg Heroin, 21,343 bottles of liquor and 23 Kg poppy flowers.
