The graduation ceremony of No 75 Air Defence basic course was held at the Air Defence Training School at PAF Base, Sakesar on Tuesday, with Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Ayaz Mahmood, Air Officer Commending, Air Defence Command as chief guest.
The AVM was received by Air Commodore Abdul Tahir, Base Commander Sakesar. The chief guest reviewed the parade and awarded Air Defence badges and trophies to the graduating students, according to a media release issued here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Air Defence has a pivotal role in attaining air supremacy and delivering the vital punch so essential for success in modern warfare.
He told the graduates that their job as air defenders demanded creative thinking and vigilance. Since they were joining the corps of professionals who shoulder the sacred responsibility of the aerial defence of the motherland, their training is in fact the beginning of a very demanding and challenging career.
Their career calls for excellent precision that leaves nothing to chance, he observed.
Chief of Air Staff Trophy for overall best performance and the trophy for best performance in academics were awarded to AVN Cdt Kashif Zubari while the Ground Control Interception trophy was awarded to Avn Cdt Hameedullah.
