The Thal Canal remodelling project has been completed at a cost of Rs 2.24 billion, with water capacity raised from 6,000 cusecs to 9,000 cuses.
The Superintendent Engineer (SE), Projects, told newsmen that the remodelling and brick-lining of the canal would prevent water wastage, irrigate 130,000 acres more land, and benefit five districts - Bhakkar, Khushab, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Mianwali.
