Lahore Civil Judge Chaudhry Sarfraz Ahmad, once again issued notices to the respondent cable operators for September 18 in 'Taj Mahal' movie case, as only two defendants appeared in the court on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the court extended the stay till the next date of hearing. Only two defendants filed their power of attorney in a suit seeking relief to restrict cable operators from showing 'Taj Mahal' being shown in country cinema and to curb piracy.
Earlier, the court had restrained cable operators from playing Indian movie 'Taj Mahal' through cable network and issued notices to the defendants but they failed to appear.
The suit filed by Mashriq Communication (Pvt) Limited distributor Akbar Khan, through Tariq Mehmood, submitted that he had invested heavily and feared that the cable operators would affect his business by running the movie. Meanwhile, it will be binding upon the cable operators not to play the movie during the stay period.
