A large number of women workers of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) including councillors on Wednesday held a protest demonstration outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) against City District Government Karachi (CDGK) for transforming under construction Women Library Complex into a trauma centre.
They were carrying banners and placards inscribed with demands for restoration and completion of Women Library Complex, establishment of more libraries and book centres in the city and demanded CDGK to refrain from interfering into projects initiated by the previous city government.
Protestors also chanted slogans against City Nazim Karachi Mustafa Kamal for wasting citizens financial resources on "unproductive projects", denying facilities to women in the city and causing immense hardships to people by leaving roads dug up and other projects abandoned.
