The Indian rupee eased on Wednesday as Asian currencies, including the Japanese yen, fell against the dollar after news that North Korea had test-fired missiles triggered concerns about geo-political risks.
The partially convertible rupee ended at 46.0825/0925 per dollar compared with Tuesday's close of 46.0025/0100. Dealers said volumes remained thin with continued rain in the financial hub Mumbai keeping staffing levels low.
"There's no real direction. It depends on what's happening globally," said a trader at an international bank.
