National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sindh has arrested a general manager of Wapda thermal power, Abdul Waris Khan, an absconder, wanted in NAB's reference No 8 and 9 (misuse of authority/misappropriation of funds) from Islamabad.
The accused Abdul Waris was involved in corruption, corrupt practices and misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs eight million when he was posted as chief engineer Guddu, thermal power.
It may be mentioned here that the accused Abdul Waris purchased certain power equipment at extremely exorbitant rates by violating all rules, regulations and government's financial procedures causing a loss of Rs eight million to the national exchequer. The accused was produced in the accountability court and has been sent to judicial custody.-PR
