161 buildings declared dangerous

The technical committee of the Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) for dangerous buildings has declared 161 dilapidated buildings as dangerous in addition to buildings already declared dangerous. According to a report of the committee, highest number of 132 such buildings are situated in Saddar Town.
Among other Towns, Jamshed Town has 13 dangerous buildings, Lyari 11, Keamari 5 and Shah Faisal Town one. KBCA has warned the residents of such buildings that these could meet any mishap during monsoon rains and, therefore, be immediately vacated for the safety of precious human lives. In this regard notices have already been issued to residents.
