Benazir for judicial probe into Achakzai's murder

Pakistan Peoples Party on Thursday expressed shock and grief over the brutal murder of Abdul Samad Achakzai of the Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party in Quetta and asked for early arrest of the culprits. PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto, in a statement, called for judicial investigation into the gory act.
Achakzai and his guard were ambushed by assailants near Quetta on Tuesday and sprayed with bullets as a result of which both died. She said that it was condemnable that the government had abdicated its responsibility to protect the life, honour and property of citizens and was wasting time only in machinations to perpetuate its rule.
People are being killed on roads in broad daylight and in bazaars, as the government has failed to apprehend culprits, she said.
