Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz acting chief, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said that game of military generals is over and now General Pervez Musharraf is ready to quit anytime. "Now we should prepare ourselves for the arising situation, general elections."
Talking to Allah Nawaz Durrani, District President of PML-N Multan in the prisons, Javed Hashmi said that he was confident that army game was over. There would be no clash between the rulers and opposition because General Pervez Musharraf would surrender peacefully. According to Durrani, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said that it was his proposal that opposition should resign from assemblies and government was not in a position to hold by-election on a large number seats.
This would create a situation of processions, public meetings, and electioneering, which was not favourable for the rulers. Durrani said that the fate of Federal Minister for Agriculture, Food and Livestock Sikandsar Hayat Bosan was in hands of Javed Hashmi, because Mian Nawaz Sharif had clearly stated that Javed Hashmi would decide whether he should be taken back or not because he had stabbed in the back of PML-N by jumping into the government side.
While PML-N did not decide whether Mian Faisal Mukhtar, City District Nazim Multan should be taken into Muslim league or not. He further said that Javed Hashmi has said that now there would be no long-term fight and decision would be taken in August 2006.
Allah Nawaz Khan Durrani, District President and Shaikh Tariq Rashid, City General Secretary said that parliamentary committees were being formed at district, division and province level to select the suitable candidates and then finalised list of candidates would be sent to Mian Nawaz Sharif.
He did not rule out the possibility of joint election of ARD parties. He said that Punjab Council had endorsed Mian Nawaz Sharif's decision that party dissidents would not be accepted in the party fold.
Durrani said that three names of Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi, Syed Fakhar Imam and Shaukat Aziz were under consideration for caretaker prime minister for holding free, fair and impartial elections in the country.
