The Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has planned to induct four floating crafts in its ancillary fleet to further improve port operations and dredging work. The KPT needs two tugs for swift arrival and sailing while two self-propelled split type hopper barges as ancillary crafts to support dredging works in the harbour channel.
In this regard, the KPT is going to invite bids from international manufacturers and suppliers of shipping on, Cost and Freight (C&F)-Freight on Board (FOB) basis for already qualified firms for the acquisition of the escort tugs.
The suppliers who have produce at least two proven designed tugs of 60-bollard pull capacity (BPC) or more. The port also required two self-propelled split type hopper barges with a capacity of 800-cubic metres proven design to support dredging work.
