Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Seiji Kojima and Mrs Tami Kojima hosted a reception on Friday to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Japan Self-Defence Force Day. Rao Sikandar Iqbal, Senior Federal Minister and Minister for Defence, was the chief guest. Colonel Makoto Kasamatsu, Defence Attache, Embassy of Japan, represented the Japan Self-Defence Forces (JSDF).
The reception was attended by parliamentarians, senior civil and military officials of the government of Pakistan, members of the diplomatic community and the other important dignitaries from the government and private sectors. JSDF day is celebrated to commemorate the establishment of the Japan Defence Agency and inauguration of Japan ground, maritime and air self-defence forces on July 1, 1954.
