Sindh High Court on Friday continuing interim stay restrained contractor from cutting mangroves for reclaiming land from sea, selling and purchasing of land in the surroundings of Younusabad, near Hawksbay Keamari Town and directed Nazir to inspect the site and submit the report.
Petitioner Muhammad Haroon alleged that Muhammad Younus, also an influential person of the area, was cutting mangroves for reclaiming the land from sea near Hawksbay and after acquiring the land, demarcating it into plots and making illegal sale and purchase thereof in connivance of Keamari Town administration.
As matter was taken up before SHC's division bench comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro the court was told by petitioner's counsel Raja Qureshi that in compliance of court order dated June 23, 2006 the Nazir of the court went to inspect the area but respondent and his hired persons using force did not allow him to do so. The court directed Nazir to make compliance of court order.
