Prominent lawyer and Constitution expert Mujeeb Pirzada has said that legal requirements were not fulfilled in the formation of Council of Common Interest (CCI). He said this in an interview with a private TV channel.
He said that the names announced for the council are Yar Muhammad Rind, Saleem Saifullah and Ghous Bukhsh Khan Mahar. He said that President announced these names but their record is not clear, because the background of these people is suspicious.
Yar Muhammad Rind, he said, was involved in the wheat scandal and several cases of NAB are still pending against Saleem Saifullah whereas Ghous Bukhsh Khan Mehar's record remained awful during tenure as Railway Minister.
Now these people have been brought in the CCI, which is great injustice with the country. He said that privatisation of institutions is a major problem, which is not being made in transparent manner. Pirzada said Zahid Hamid, Minister for Privatisation, might be included in the Council. The most important problems which nation is facing are water, electricity and construction of dams, he added.
