The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planned to launch the Phase-II of small water purification plants at different sites in the capital. Under this scheme, the free of cost clean drinking water would be available to the citizens in the city.
Sources in the CDA told Business Recorder on Saturday that a PC-I costing Rs 5 million has been prepared for launching the second phase of the scheme. Its first phase worth Rs 6 million has been launched in some sectors of Islamabad earlier.
They said that keeping in view their additional demand, the CDA has planned to install more small water purification plants.
In the second phase, the sources said, nine new sites have been identified for this purpose. These areas include: Presidential Estate Colony Aiwan-e-Sadr; near overhead tank in G-7/3; near tube-well plant in I-11/4; near tube-well plant in G-8/2; in the Parliamentarians lodges; in Ministers Enclaves; near tube-well plant in G-11/3; near overhead tank in I-10/2 and in the Parliament House.
The PC-I of the project would be submitted in the coming Capital Development Authority Development Working Party meeting for its approval, the sources maintained.
