Gram Punjab fluctuated time and again while fluctuations were in other commodities on the wholesale market during the week ended on July 8, 2006.
On the opening day rice demand stated to huge and therefore traders saw no hesitation in raising prices such as Irri white gained Rs 10 to Rs 850 and better type saw it higher on Rs 870, wheat demand and supply matched but still week end trend was evident as it rose by Rs 10, moong Punjab rose sharply by Rs 500 to Rs 4750, moong Sindh was quoted at Rs 4000, and moong Burma at Rs 2800, and better quoted higher at Rs 3200.
On Tuesday grain markets presented all round firmer look. On the gram side gram garda Punjab gained Rs 25 to RS 2850 and gram garda Punjab gained Rs 25 to Rs 2850 and better type quoted higher at Rs 2925, gram dal Punjab picked up same amount to Rs 3275 and better type up quoted higher at Rs 2925, gram dal Punjab picked up same amount to RS 3275 and better type up quoted at Rs 3350.
Yellow peas canada gained Rs 15 to Rs 1440 and better type was quoted higher at Rs 1500, yellow peas dal was also up Rs 15 to Rs 1615 and better type quoted at RS 1675, beetle Chana I plus Rs 15 up to Rs 2975 and better quoted at Rs 3075, beetle 50x50 better type gained Rs 50 to Rs 2975 while inferior type showed no change at Rs 2875.
Dal beetle inferior rose by Rs 50 to Rs 3350 and better type up Rs 25 to Rs 3425, rapeseed was in strong demand which pushed prices higher rapeaseed from Dadu low type up Rs 15 to Rs 680 and better type quote higher at Rs 725, rapeseed fromMirpur rose by Rs 20 to rs 750 and better type quoted higher at Rs 770 on Jodia Bazar milk powder particularly got changed such as coroloc milk powder per bag of 25 kgs closed lower by Rs 375 to Rs 4625, Bale Value ended down by Rs 100 to Rs 4550 and Melco Veg down Rs 325 to Rs 4125.
On Wednesday, the commodities on the wholesale markets trade smoothly as supply remained balanced . So far Jodia Bazar was concerned , it appears was not covered and hence no fluctuation were marked.
On Thursday booth markets were pretty active showing changes such as commodities wholesale markets gram garda Punjab scored another Rs 25 gain to Rs 2875 and better was higher at Rs 2950, gramdal Punjab gained same amount inferior to show at Rs 3300and Rs 3375, yellow peas Canada inferior lost Rs 15 to Rs 1425 while good type shed higher amount Rs 25 to Rs 1475.
Yellow dal Canada shed Rs 15 to Rs 1600 and better type lost Rs 25 to rs 9000 and the other was quoted at Rs 3075, beetle 50x50 inferior type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 2900 while better type maintained overnight leval at Rs 2975, dal beetle up Rs 25 to Rs 50 to Rs 3400 while better type was quoted at Rs 3475. On the Jodia Bazar jute good showed moving higher as twice (per Kg) Rs 39.50, 16x3 CRT/ India fisher higher by 50 paid to Rs 39.50, and 40x2 brown up by 50 paisa to Rs 37.50, hessian cloth 45.9 finished higher by Rs 50 to Rs 1550 and 50x8 Thul closed higher by Rs 25 to Rs 1425.
On Friday Jodia Bazar showed changes in white pepper from Singapore gained substantially Rs 400 to Rs 4700, black pepper closed rather sharply gaining Rs 500 to 4700? Cloves ended with a loss of 400 to Rs 14000, Aniseed moved higher by Rs 100 to Rs 4400, cuminseed finished down by Rs 200 to Rs 4800, and darchini shed Rs 50 to Rs 2500. The grain market had once again smooth and transpired no fluctuation. On Saturday prices moved both ways.
