The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Monday took suo motu notice against 12-deaths due to supply of contaminated water and issued notices to the Advocate General Punjab, District Nazim, District Co-ordinator and authority responsible for supply of water Faisalabad to appear before the apex court on at Lahore on July 17.
In his complaint, one Qazi Muhammad Baksh, a social worker, had complained that in the locality of Muhammad Abad of Faisalabad death toll due to usage of contaminated water had risen to 12 and a large number of patients was admitted in Faisalabad's General Hospital. He had requested the Chief Justice to take notice into the matter and save lives of the poor people.
