Site Association of Industry (SAI) Chairman Ameen Bandukda expressed anguish over rising crimes in Site area. Chairing the meeting, two days back to review the current law and order situation in Site area, he said the industrialists of the area are much worried of the rising trend of crimes.
He urged TPO Javed Akber Riaz, who has been transferred to Site area recently and his team consisting of SHOs from Site, Pak Colony, Pirabad, Baldia, Shershah and SO Site and Pak Colony, including DSP Traffic Site to adopt all possible measures to curb the crimes here and provide relief to the industrialists who have invested billions in this area and are providing bread and butter to more than 500,000 people.
Citing the recent crimes, he said that a Chowkidar of the Atlas Textile was killed by the dacoits and even ASI Nadeem was shot dead by a hardcore criminal Sher Khan near Banaras Chowk in busy hours.
Former KCCI president and SITE Association chairman Zubair Motiwala said the industrialists of Site area were deeply alarmed due to the recent rise in crime incidents of mobile snatching, cash and other valuables and particularly planned dacoities in industries in connivance with the area police.
He also drew the attention of the TPO towards the nefarious activities of policemen and traffic police engaged in checking the vehicles, motorbikes and harassing the owners. He took a serious notice of it and demanded that this practice should be stopped forthwith.
Younus M. Bashir, chairman, SAI Law and Order Committee and deputy chief, Site Crime Monitoring Cell (SCMC), said that to curb crimes in the night the Cell is issuing NOC in close liaison with Site Police Station for movement of loaded trucks in the area. But in spite of all these measures, dacoities in planned manner are not stopping and trucks loaded with goods and machinery are moving even under surveillance of police parties in the area, which is not understandable.
He urged the TPO to help SAI in making the Site area as a model zone, free from crimes, so that the industrialists could run their industries peacefully.
TPO Javed Akber Riaz presented the crime prevention plan before the Committee and assured the industrialists that the area police would leave no stone unturned to control the increasing crime in Site area. He assured the industrialists that he was aware with the prevailing law and order situation in Site area and had mobilised his team to become more vigilant and curb the increasing crime.
Ameen Bandukda appreciated the new crime prevention plan and asked TPO Javed Akber Riaz to intensify his efforts to control occurrence of the street crimes and to ensure that the area police must play their role positively in providing security to industrialists.
