Governor Balochistan Owais Ahmed Ghani was briefed about various development projects of Balochistan University during his visit to the University Campus in Quetta on Thursday.
He was informed that over one ninety one million rupees are being spent on expansion of various university departments and provision of residential accommodation to the faculty and employees of the university.
The university expansion project includes construction of seventy bungalows and quarters are being constructed while a shopping centre, twelve bed medical centre, gymnasium, squash court, expansion faculty block and provision of necessary equipment for the laboratory.
The governor was also informed that science department development programme costing 24.9 million rupees has also been initiated. A hostel for accommodating two hundred students is also planned to be constructed at an estimated cost of 38.7 million rupees while a hostel for visiting faculty would be constructed at a cost of 20 million rupees.
The governor directed for maintaining high standard of construction of these projects and their completion within schedule period. He said more funds would be acquired from higher education commission to ensure completion of Balochistan University Development Project.
