Fifty scholars from 25 countries, including Pakistan will participate in international conference on 'Women's Rights and Responsibilities in Islamic System' slated for July 15 and 16 in Tehran.
The conference aims to prepare grounds for better communication among distinguished women from world of Islam. It also aims to present Islamic views on women's issues, rights and responsibilities.
About 230 papers have been received, of which 20 will be presented in the conference. These are about status of Muslim women in non-Islamic societies in terms of rights, responsibilities and family affairs. The event is organised by Iran-based World Assembly for Proximity of Islamic Sects in co-operation with Centre for Women and Family Affairs.
Scholars from Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Thailand, Kosovo and Palestine will attend conference.
