The Sindh High Court on Thursday issued pre-admission notices to Sindh advocate general, deputy attorney general and others for July 19, 2006, on a petition against the illegal detention of Sindh Nationalists Forum President by law enforcement agencies.
Petitioner Jibran Baladi alleged that his father Allah Ditto alias Asif Baladi was taken by personnel of Inter Services Intelligence from his house, situated at Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi on June 26, 2006.
He submitted that whereabouts of his father were still unknown and despite the fact that they had informed the police about the incident no case has been registered yet.
The petitioner also mentioned in petition that Asif Baladi contacted his sister on her cell phone and asked her to hand over his passport and ID card to one Sarwar, who was coming to collect the same.
He said Sarwar came at house on July 2 along with three or four other persons in vehicle AKD-583 and introduced himself as servant of Brigadier Saleem of ISI and demanded passport and ID of his father but he was refused to give the same.
Secretaries of ministries of interior and defence, Sindh home department, IG Sindh and SHO Gulistan-e-Johar police station Karachi were named as respondent in petition praying court to direct respondent to produce the detainee before the court.
SHC's division bench comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Mohammad Afzal Soomro issuing notice to respondents for July 19, 2006 asked provincial and federal law officers to seek necessary instructions from concerned quarters to apprise the court about the whereabouts of Asif Baladi.
