Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) Sindh Secretary General Senator Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro on Saturday announced that the alliance would hold protest demos throughout the district on Sunday against killing of their provincial Vice President Allama Hassan Turabi.
He said that a series of protests would continue till the arrest of the killers. He said that if the government had succeeded in arresting killers of the renowned Ulema from Maulana Dr Habibullah Mukhtar, Mufti Abdul Sami and Maulana Muhammad Yousuf Ludhyanvi to Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai and Mufti Muhammad Jameel, the incident of killing of Allama Hassan Turabi would not have occurred.
Dr Soomro said that brutal murder of Allama Hassan Turabi and his nephew was a conspiracy to once again push the Sindh province towards sectarian riots. He said that the Sindh government had failed to provide security to the citizens, as well as, high-profile personalities.
He demanded of the provincial government to show moral courage and tender resignation. He appealed to other political and religious parties to actively participate in the protests.
