The brutal killing of Allama Turabi is a collective loss of all component parties of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), said MMA Secretary General and JUI-F Pakistan Amir Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday.
Talking on telephone to MMA Sindh Secretary Information Qari Muhammad Usman here, he paid rich tribute to Allama Hasan Turabi, saying that he was not only a main leader of MMA, but he played a vital role against sectarianism.
He said that his assassination was a cowardly act. He said that they would take all possible measures to get Allama's killers arrested. He said that the MMA in this regard would disappoint the bereaved family, adding that like his family all component parties of MMA were in shock.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that it was the MMA, which united parties belonging to different schools of thought on a single platform to end sectarianism. He said it was the result of policies of the MMA that today people belonging to different schools of thought were showing better tolerance.
He said Allama Hasan Turabi's murder was not an incident but a result of a pre-planned and deep conspiracy to weaken the MMA. He said that had the government not left unpunished murderers of Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai, Mufti Jameel Khan, martyrs of Nishtar Park and other Ulema, the murder of Allama Turabi would not have happened. He said that the target killing of the Ulema would continue till the present rulers changed their policies and priorities.
Maulana Fazulur Rahman expressing heart-felt sympathy to the bereaved family said that the whole MMA was with them in this trying time. He urged the bereaved family and workers of MMA to remain peaceful, He said that if the killers of Allama Turabi were not arrested soon and real faces behind this conspiracy were not unveiled before the nation, the MMA would announce its future strategy in this regard.
