Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz telephoned his Lebanese counterpart Fouad Siniora on Sunday afternoon, and expressed Pakistan's solidarity with the Lebanese people. An official press release said the prime minister strongly condemned the violence being committed against Lebanon, and urged that the loss to life and property must be stopped immediately.
Shaukat Aziz appealed to the world community, the Security Council permanent members, the UN and other relevant bodies to intervene, saying that Pakistan stands by the Lebanese people and fully respects their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He urges the world community to take immediate measures to ensure peace in Lebanon.-PR
