Sindh Assembly members belonging to MQM and JI, in their separate press statements, on Sunday hold one another responsible for recent law and order situation in Karachi.
The MQM MPA, in their joint statement, alleged that 'armed terrorists' of Jamaat-e-Islami were involved in activities of arson and violence during the burial of Allama Hassan Turabi the other day.
They said four of the terrorists were captured and handed over to the Rangers. They also claimed that their identity cards showed that their names did not match with the traditional names of those belonging to Fiqa Jaffaria.
They alleged that terrorists involved in Saturday rampage belonged to the JI task force, and claimed that a circular regarding this task force had already been unveiled.
The MQM MPAs said the aim behind killing of Allama Hassan Turabi was to harm peace of Karachi. They charged that the JI also wanted to mar peace of Karachi so that the provincial and city government could be made a failure.
They demanded of President General Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, the governor and the chief minister of Sindh to take action against the terrorists harming peace of the city.
Meanwhile, MMA MPAs Nasrullah Shaji, Hameedullah Khan, and Younus Barai, in their joint statements, said the peace of Karachi had been put on stake to save rule in Islamabad. They charged that those responsible for killing of renowned Ulema of Karachi, including Allama Turabi and Nishtar Park tragedy martyrs had got patronage of rulers.
They said the scale of killings of Ulema during the rule of MQM was unprecedented. They said that serial killings of Ulema belonging to both Sunni and Shia as well as political leaders and activists and non arrest of their killers showed that the killers had got patronage of the rulers.
The MMA MPAs said that who killed Allama Turabi had tried to silence a bold voice of truth, but many more Allama Turabis would be born.
They charged that the federal government just to save its rule had handed over Sindh to killers and extortionists, saying it was the MMA that was striving for rooting out menace of sectarianism from the Pakistani society.
