Taking note of the reports that a person killed in an encounter with Lyari Task Force on July 12 in Gadap area, claimed to be a notorious outlaw Mashooq Brohi having head money of Rs3 million, was some other person with Ghulam Rasool Brohi as his name.
Sindh Inspector General Police, Jahangir Mirza has directed DIG police (Operations) Mushtaque Ahmed Shah to get identified the body by the family of deceased and have it handed over to the next of kin at the earliest.
Further, the IGP also constituted an Inquiry Committee, headed by Additional IG Police Tariq Jamil to probe into allegations that it was a staged encounter and a wrong person killed was claimed to be as Mashooq Brohi.
